Youth for Christ Training Centre – Hekpoort – South Africa

This well established international ministry urgently seeks Maintenance and / or customer hosting personal

We require a person or couple with some or all of the listed skills to prayerfully consider applying for the opportunity serve in this ministry:

The ideal candidate will commence employment on 01 April 2010

Service Needs:-
- Manage a maintenance team of 16 permanent staff members. Working knowledge of welding, carpentry, basic building, electrical work, and plumbing would be advantageous.
- Supervise of gardeners; the ability to prune plants and fell trees correctly would be advantageous.
- Purchase, merchandise, stock management, pricing, stock tracking, float / cash management, banking, reconciling of sales versus income for two onsite sweet and general goods stores.
- Implement a key issue and returns system and manage all keys used on the premises.
- Welcome and attend to customer needs as and when they arise. Liaising between clients, facilitators, catering, maintenance and administration departments.
- Oversee onsite laundry; the ability to sew and perform basic repair and sewing jobs would be advantageous.
- Marketing of the site, including showing clients the premises and facilities.
- Participate in ministry objectives including but are not limited to – re-commissioning of L’Abri in Howick; Family Matters camps; Youth Week ; staff retreats and training events; group orientation and facilitation of customers.
- Be able to adapt to flexible working conditions and scope. Willing to work unstructured hours with only one week-end off per month guaranteed, alternative off days will be scheduled.

All candidates must be able to support a Christian Ethos, including the Youth for Christ statement of faith.

Salary stipend will be subject to discussion, please note that this is a ministry position supplementary income/fund raising may be necessary. Accommodation may be available to successful candidate depending on position offered.

GENERAL MANAGER Position Overview

 Child Evangelism Fellowship is looking for a general manager to oversee our Lenteland Retreat facility in Vereeniging. Child Evangelism Fellowship is a faith-based organization focused on reaching children with the Gospel. All employees must be willing to present the ministry to receive ongoing financial support. The position requires the general manager to live on the property in an efficient rondavel.  Applicants should have experience with guest services, maintenance, and administration. Qualifications for this position may be filled by a married couple (for example, the husband may have experience with maintenance and the wife may have experience with administration).

 Qualifications

1)      Born again believer in Jesus Christ

a.       Willing to sign CEF Statement of Faith and Worker Compliance Agreement

2)      Guest services

a.       Personable, experience with customers

b.      Able to promote, track, schedule and book group rentals

c.       Able to communicate well verbally and written

d.      Ensure the stay of the facility guests is comfortable and that their needs are met

3)      Skilled maintenance worker

a.       Oversee the maintenance and repair of buildings, vehicle, grounds, and equipment.

b.      Jack of all trades (knowledgeable about building, welding, electrical, and plumbing)

c.       Provide supervision to site laborers (housekeeper and gardener).

4)      Administration

a.       Able to track finances using a spreadsheet

b.      Provide ongoing written reports

c.       Maintain employee records
